I am a Flight Paramedic and was wondering if anyone had any knowledge of information regarding Tax breaks or deductions for EMS personnel or Paramedics.

    Unreimbursed expenses pertaining to your job that together exceed 2% of your gross income are deductible, providing you itemize rather than take your standard deduction. This is true for any employee. You can deduct union dues, safety equipment and/or supplies, uniforms, small tools, subscriptions to professional journals, job-specific education, etc. The key is you have to pay these expenses out of your own pocket with no reimbursement.
