    You’re not making sense. Self employment is a small business, reported on Schedule C. If you itemize, then you may be talking about nonreimbursed employee business expense. In both cases, you need a log, records, information o vehicles used.

    For 2007, the standard milage rate was 48.5 cents per mile. Note that the standard rate includes everything except parking and tolls and interest expense (if your business vehicle is financed).
