How much will Obama’s new health plan cost us?
**Mr. Obama’s proposed income-based health-insurance subsidies, tax credits for tiny businesses, and expanded Medicaid eligibility would cost another .63 trillion, according to the TPC. Thus his tax rebates and health insurance subsidies alone would lift the undisclosed bill to future taxpayers by .95 trillion — roughly 5 billion a year by 2012.

The Wall Street Journal did a great article on how much Obama’s plans are going to cost us.

Just wondering if anyone knows how much it truly will cost us all??

How much will his tax plans cost the average American?
**A trillion here, a trillion there, and pretty soon you’re talking about real money. Altogether, Mr. Obama is promising at least .3 trillion of increased spending and reduced tax revenue from 2009 to 2018 — roughly an extra 0 billion a year by 2012-2013.

How is he going to pay for it?

Raising the tax rates on the salaries, dividends and capital gains of those making more than 0,000-0,000, and phasing out their exemptions and deductions, can raise only a small fraction of the amount. Even if we have a strong economy, Mr. Obama’s proposed tax hikes on the dwindling ranks of high earners would be unlikely to raise much more than billion- billion a year by 2012.

Funny…I am ignorant but how do you all think he will pay for his so called reformed health plan? With his 600 million in campaign funds? I think not!
I see no backup on where you got the numbers on McCain’s health care.

I am watching Obama speak in Chester, Pa. right now. He said "change" about 2000 times. He talked about cutting taxes for 95% of Americans. He said he will guarantee EVERY person has his or her tuition for college paid. Universal healthcare. LOL….. In this tough economic time he is being extremely unreasonable.

Electing Obama will cost you your ignorance

After the New Deal and the Great Society, I am really not sure how much we have left.

McCain’s health plan will cost $2 Trillion and insure 25% of the people who currently do not currently have insurance.

Obama’s health plans will cost $850 Billion LESS, and insure 50% of the people who do not currently have insurance.

    Easy Math.

    VOTE OBAMA!

What they don’t mention is mccain’s health plan would cost us more than obama’s even despite the fact that he intends to raise taxes on middle and lower class citizens to pay for it. Beyond that, it would lead to less people insured meaning that tax payers will end up paying for people bringing their kids to the emergency room every time they have strep throat or an ear ache.
With more people insured and with the right implementations of hipa and data sharing we can cut medical costs substantially, so the WSJ is off. It will cost us, but pulling out of Iraq will also save us an enourmous amount of debt.

You may want to re-check your figures before touting the republican rhetoric…..I am an informed republican conservative who is actually voting for Obama, because I did my homework…..You need to clear your mind of this crap that they are feeding you with that silver spoon and realize what’s TRULY best for this country. I don’t agree with everything Obama would like to do……But I didn’t agree with everything my parents said, until I had kids of my own, and I realized they were right about what was best for me….Don’t be scared of what you don’t necessarily understand, and do the right thing…..

The real question is how much will McSame cost us? Not only is his health care plan 2 trillion dollars we would have to pay income taxes on it for the first time EVER. On top of that he wants to continue spending millions of dollars a day in Iraq. And I don’t know about you but I don’t live in Iraq and I would rather spend trillions of dollars here instead of over there. you wanna know how McCain will pay for his health care plan, MAJOR reductions in Medicare/Medicaid and other programs, cutting services for the elderly, poor, and disabled, that’s really putting country first, not!

The WSJ’s hit piece on Obama’s health care plan does not seem to understand how to calculate the U.S. deficit or forecast the economy five years into the future. Odd for a financial newspaper not to quite get it.

The numbers are based on the last twelve months of negative growth in the stock market extrapolated to U.S. GDP. Very sneaky, but still a lie. You can tell by the way they use words like "estimate" "likely" and "typically". Where did they get those pieces of data? From the recent downturn in the economy.

So the estimates are based on the U.S having a five-year recession in which the stock market tumbles roughly 1.2% every week for the next 260 weeks. Brilliant, huh?
