Can you list all the new taxes that are on the table…?

…and elimination of deductions.

Let’s start with:

-eliminating the mortgage deduction (A brilliant move during a housing slump)

-eliminating deductions for charitable donations

-eliminating deductions for health care (exempting unions of course. Is that fair? Obama has to pay back the unions that supported him though)

-cap and trade (not a tax per se but will have the same effect. Do you think businesses will pass the increase on to you?)

-VAT tax (A federal sales tax on all purchases)

What else you got?
Oh yeah. Letting the top tax rates go back up for individuals earning over 0,000.

And raising the corporate tax rate.

Is this why Sen. Gregg refused to be O’s Commerce Secretary? Sen. Gregg notes the lies in O's?

Budget..entitled, ironically, “A NEW ERA OF FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY

AOL News ^ | March 13, 2009, 8:02am |

Sen. Dave Gregg points out blow by blow the HYPOCRISY riddled through Obama’s Budget entitled ironically, “A New Era of Fiscal Responsibility.”

Gregg writes, “The argument that this budget doesn’t have tax increases is, I think, an Alice and Wonderland view of the budget.”

-Raising the tax rate from 35% to 42%, eliminating deductions on mortgages and on charitable deductions. Small businesses will be feel the burden the most.

-“Cutting the debt in half in four years is truly spurious, because you take the deficit and quadruple it, and then you cut it in half, that’s like taking four steps back and two steps forward. You’re not making any progress. You’re still going backwards.”

-Raising “a massive sales tax, a national sales tax on everybody’s electric bill, especially people in the Midwest and the Northeast. And what do you do with that revenue? You don’t use it to contain the size of government. You use it to expand government.

"There’s a representation that 80 percent of the first billion is going to go for your make-work-pay tax credit, but the next 20 percent goes to raise the size of the government.
And then on top of that you’re going to get another 0 billion potentially, and there’s no representation of that coming back to taxpayers."

"In fact, there’s specific language which makes it pretty clear that that’s going to be used as walking around money for various constituencies that are interested in spending it."

"They may be worthwhile constituencies, but it’s a heck of a tax burden to put on the American people.
And it represents a massive expansion in the size of government.
I guess that’s my big problem here."
ooops, I got Gregg’s first name wrong…. but I think you know about this man…. smile..
yet, its AOL… because the major news networks have been discredited as purveyers of lies..
HAM O BAM A
for the record: obama’s goons approached Gregg…… then lied to cover their behinds since obama can’t stand to loose….ego-centric

Saving Tax Receipts; could someone please explain this to me?

I live in the United States and I’m interested to know about saving receipts to receive a tax deduction.

Is it correct to say that; any money spent that is used to generate an income or a profit is tax deductable?

Is this true?

If so, does paying for food to live a cost of business generating profits? If not, then how do some people get to do this?

If my first question is true, then what exactly do you deduct? The sales tax that was attached with a purchase? The ENTIRE purchase?

I believe that I may be asking the wrong questions, but I am rather new to filing for taxes and what-not. Thanks in advance.

I am close to opening my online store, but need help on taxes, deductions, etc.?

I am going to operate as a sole proprietor and I am selling wholesale items. Some are drop shipped for me and some I ship myself.
I have money that i receive from an insurance company due to an injury at my previous job. Obviously that money is tax free, but can I just use that money and put that into my business checking account? How would that work?
Also, am I only taxed on the money that I receive in hand. For example, I sell an item for . I then buy it from the drop ship/wholesaler for . I made , but Paypal takes out a percentage. So lets say I am left with , am I taxed on that ?
I am having a hard time figuring this stuff out.

thanks for the help
Thanks for all the help.
So I would have to pay federal income tax of 15.4% on all net profit? And then I would have to pay back sales tax for those WI residents who purchased anything on my site?

Sales tax deduction?

I purchased a truck for my business and paid 1400.00 in sales tax. I use the truck 100% for business. What I was wondering is can I take the sales tax off of my income tax or is it included in the depreciation. Also I didnt keep a record of mileage for the year. Does that make any differance.
