A business asks it’s customers to buy items from their store, and pay for them mind you, and place them into a donation basket for a good charity. Then the store manager turns in the "donation", gets a receipt from the charity, and uses it for a tax deduction. How right is this? Is it wrong? Give me your opinion. 10 points to the one who makes me believe their point of view!
Emilie: You didn’t answer the question, it happens all the time in the area where I live. I’m just wondering if people think this is a right thing to do or if it’s really cheating since the store received $ for the "donated" items.
Devil: That’s not an answer either, are there any intelligent people on here? Someone?

Who would be nice enough to Sponsor?

I am currently living in Palm Springs California. Many people would automatically say that this a a privliged area ,so don’t prejudge .I need a sponsorship because I am part of the people in this area who isn’t included in that prejudgement. I am looking for a sponsorship for cheer. Also any advice ,such as links to people/ businesses, who would be interested in sponsoring would be greatly appreciated.

Welll I am 13 and I want to dedicate myself to cheer for, hopefully, the next few years through high school.I currently want to join a cheer team out here called Desert Valley All Star Mavericks. They are a very well known team here in Southern California. We have placed very highly in many regional and state competitions. Not to mention he have been ranked ,I believe to be, in the top 10 percentile in the country.

Well a sponsorship would not only mean the world to me but would also come with many benefits.Which include the bussines /persons name on our team shirt and not to mention your donation would be a tax deduction.Since we are a completely non-profit organization.

Anyone please help me .

(If interested please notify me and i will have my coach make sure you recieve all papers nececary )

OR ANY LINKS OR IDEAS TO GET SPONSORSHIPS WOULD BE NICE

Thank you,

Recycling PC components for cash?

I work for an OEM hardware service depot and recently got a huge contract for repairing defective PC peripherals. We expect to generate a few pallets worth of damaged mainboards and mechanisms monthly. The OEM manufacturers don’t want them back (shipping cost). I found some companies that’ll take them off our hands and we’re looking into legalities of disposing of such materials… but was curious with such volume if there are businesses that’ll pay to take them and use them for salvaging precious metals contained in the boards. Perhaps is there a government program for a tax deduction?

Informative responses are very much appreciated. Thanks

Why don't more businesses and non-profit organizations use solar panels?

I was watching Extreme Makeover Home Edition and they installed solar panels in one home and said it would reduce their energy bill to only 7$ a month.
I know there must be some businesses using them, but none that I know of in my area (Eastern NC). So why don’t more use them? They would get a huge tax deduction as well as save on electricity bills. Is it just not profitable enough? I mean does it just cost to much to buy and install to really think about the long term benefits or what?

rolling over into a roth IRA?

i have a SEP IRA (similar to traditional IRA for small businesses). Since my contributions to the sep ira is tax deductable, can i roll over my sep ira into a roth IRA after taking my tax deduction? therefore i would have received my tax deduction (from sep IRA) and prevent any future taxing of my roth IRA>

Why would commericial landlords not want to rent properties?

Can you think of a reason a commercial property owner would rather keep a unit vacant than accept reduced rent?
I am currently in the market for a new commercial lease. Since the leasing market is bad, I was hoping to get a bigger place than we need but for affordable money (For example: I pay 00 a month, for a place that rented for 00 3 years ago). My premise was some money is better than no money. The lease would be month-to-month and they can show the location to others while I’m in it. If they find a tenant who will pay more rent they can kick me out. My business is not "dirty" and the location would be move in ready the day I moved out.

I did not find locations that were interested in this = can you think why? Remember, lost rent is not a tax deduction.
One place was vacant for 15 months (that’s ,000 they have lost)
Another place had 4 out of 5 units vacant for 6 months (each month they are losing 00)

I’m in Los Angeles County. I have income to easily support this rent and a FICO score of 800.
To clarify these are small spaces 1200-2000sf. They do not require any build out. The standard lease in my area for these is 12 months.

I would be willing to do the lease. It’s to the landlords benefit not to.

How much charitable contribution can I take?

I’m the sole shareholder of a corporation which operates a travel agency for business travelers. I want to donate computer equipment to a qualified charitable organization. I bought the equipment 2 years ago for ,000 and expensed the entire amount under section 179. The market value of the computers is ,000. If my corporation’s taxable income is sufficient for it to deduct up to ,000 in charitable corporations, how much tax deduction would I received for this donation? I know that IRS publication 544 gives the method for depreciation recapture for section 1245 assets, but the wording is kind of confusing. Can anyone help??? Thanks!!

sir, i am appointed in your organization from pallmall recruitments . i am confine or not?

My Final Paycheck is 21 days late and…?

is being held until I agree to sign a waiver releasing my employer his obligation to pay my state, federal, and payroll taxes. In other words allowing him to change my status to independent contractor. I’m not willing to do that because he hasn’t even come close to paying me my full salary. I was hired with as an employee to a small business with an offer letter in January for which I have the documentation. My paychecks, since being hired in January, reflected a tax deduction, but none were ever paid to the government. Now, in order to receive my final paycheck he is demanding I sign a waiver and is only willing to pay me 10 of the 19 days owed. Obviously this is illegal on many levels so what do I do to expedite the process?
